New Home, New Traditions

At Painted Prairie, we feel that anytime you move to a new home, become part of a new community, and settle into your new routines, that this is the perfect time to start new traditions. This holiday season, everyone at Painted Prairie worked to bring a bit of holiday joy and cheer to our first-year “pioneers.”

We creatively celebrated the holiday season by giving our residents unique experiences throughout the month of December to help them enjoy their holidays while maintaining clear social distancing standards. Our celebration of the holiday season kicked off with carolers and holiday lantern deliveries to all first-time residents, followed by special delivery emails to (virtually) welcome the holidays.

Special Guests: Santa & Mrs. Claus

Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by to share a special moment with us. Residents gathered the family to watch the special video message and hear the couple read the holiday classic “Twas the Night before Christmas”—suitable for all kids aged 1 to 100 (or older)!

Recipe: Fluffy Eggnog

We raised our glasses and toasted the New Year with Painted Prairie’s Fluffy Eggnog, our signature drink recipe for the 2020 Prairie Holidays. This warm-you-to-your-toes drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) is the choice for a New Year’s Day morning sitting by the fire, watching bowl games, or visiting with neighbors—from a safe distance, of course. AURORA, Colo., November 19, 2020 — According to a recent data report by Metro Study, the leading provider of primary and secondary market information to the housing and residential construction industry, Painted Prairie, a neo-traditional, master-planned community in Aurora, landed in the top 10 for home sales in master-planned communities in the Denver Metro Area with 195 sales as of the end of October 2020. The community opened March 2020 with five homebuilders and 13 model homes.

“With the help of our incredible lineup of homebuilders and the tenacity of our sales teams, we have not only found great demand for our variety of home choices, but we have seen our significant focus on our parks and opens spaces come to life,” said Chris Fellows, President of Painted Prairie. “More than 80 families (and counting) now live in Painted Prairie. I am proud of our partners and what we were able to accomplish this year. I look forward to what we will achieve in 2021.”

The Painted Prairie community is the only other Colorado community designed by the same team – Civitas and Calthorpe & Associates who successfully transformed Stapleton Airport into a world-renowned success urban redevelopment now known as Central Park. The most impressive thing to note about Painted Prairie, besides it’s amazing views of the City and Mountains is the 30+Acres of amazing parks and open space that have been activated this year.

“It’s really important to me and my company that the communities in which we build are complements to the homes we build – they have to be that same caliber,” said Chris Presley, President and Founder of Epic Homes, a boutique homebuilder in the Denver Metro Area. “I had not seen anything like that in this part of the market until I was introduced to Painted Prairie. I choose to stay disciplined and stay with the A+ communities and I can say that about Painted Prairie.”

Making the top 10 list is quite an accomplishment for a new master-planned community that opened right before Colorado’s COVID-19 restrictions took effect. The success can be traced to the Painted Prairie unique partnership program between the broker community, the homebuilders and the developers. Whimsy and adventure thrive at The Fort in Painted Prairie’s High Prairie Park. These playgrounds were designed to embrace the sense of wonder, imagination, and growth that transcends into the development of a child…enlivening movement, fitness, mental acuity, and the purity of just having fun.

“Life on the prairie wouldn’t be complete without the magic of playtime,” said Diane Lipovsky, Landscape Architect, Civitas. “We want to give kids a special glimpse into the look and feel of the pioneer, we created a series of play experiences centered on the treehouse, she said.”

Constructed by Beanstalk Builders, the play structures themselves evoke images of a simpler time, when adults and kids were free to explore. “We were inspired by the Swiss Family Robinson ethos, and we worked with Beanstalk Builders out of North Carolina to craft beautiful experiential play features that amp up the views of the grasslands, the mountains, and the different areas around the park,” said Lipovsky.

“We loved Beanstalk’s whimsical approach to play and their unusual, natural style. These pieces are so unique here, but they really work with the prairie aesthetic we have developed.”
