Join us on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. for live music and family fun in Painted Prairie’s High Prairie Park. Rounding out your Saturday plans, our pop-up micro farmer’s market is back featuring local vendors, check out our live mural painting, get down and dirty with our gardening demonstrations, and take a stroll through our stunning model homes by Colorado’s top builders.

Friday, June 4
Get ready to get funky! Grab a blanket, a chair and your best dance moves to High Prairie Park as Soul School brings its own blend of Funk, Jazz, Motown, and R&B to the stage. Find your spot in one of the large socially distant lawn circles and enjoy the concert on us!
Saturday, June 5
Our vendors are back with a few new ones too! The popular Micro Pop-Up Farmer’s Market is back from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm., on June 5. Browse our curated selection of locally produced offerings and craft goods then head over and grab a bite or a sip at one of the local food trucks on site during the event.

Whether you are a family of four or a family of one, Painted Prairie’s community gardens offer healthy lifestyle choices, a sense of community, and an easy way to enjoy the Colorado outdoors
Painted Prairie has two community gardens — Columbine and Indian Paintbrush Gardens. Both gardens are located within easy walking distance from anywhere in Painted Prairie. These gardens offer a place to gather, make family memories, or spend quiet time alone with your very own plot of homegrown vegetables.
Whether you are growing for your own family or to donate to a local food bank, community gardens offer more than a sustainable food source. Our community garden plots are for anyone new to urban farming and who want to connect with the outdoors in a healthy, nutritious way.
While not a new concept, community gardens are popping up all over the country, including right here in Colorado. From urban areas to the suburbs, national trends show that these small urban garden spaces are growing faster than in previous years. According to a blog post by The Trust for Public Land, in 2019, the number of community garden plots in city parks has increased 44% since the group started keeping track in 2012. Currently, there are approximately 20 community gardens in Aurora, Colorado, that provide food and community connections for residents.
It is that connection to the earth, the respite from life’s stresses, and the shear joy of growing and harvesting our own food that brings the neighborhood together at Columbine and Indian Paintbrush Gardens. Long before DIA was a blip on the radar, the early pioneers who settled this land joined together to grow their own food and live a simple, sustainable life. Our community gardens are designed to attract residents (and butterflies), and are another way Painted Prairie is tying into the agricultural roots of the community.

Painted Prairie, the next best community in Aurora, kicks off its award-winning events series with its Bring on Spring! event offering a weekend of garden-focused activities, movies in the park, a pop-up micro farmer’s market, and interactive home-inspired clinics for anyone looking to get out of the house and enjoy a weekend of springtime activities.
Here’s a quick rundown on what is happening:
Friday, April 30
Grab your friends and family and join us on April 30 from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, for a free showing of the 80s classic movie, The Princess Bride at High Prairie Park. Bring your chairs and blankets, find your spot in one of the large socially distant lawn circles, and enjoy the popcorn, sodas, bottled water, and candy on us! Movie begins promptly at 8:00 pm.
Saturday, May 1
Looking for a little something to get you in the mood for Spring? We have a special Micro Pop-Up Farmer’s Market from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm., on May 1. Browse our curated selection of locally produced offerings and craft goods then head over and grab a bite at one of the local food trucks on site during the event.

About Painted Prairie
Painted Prairie is a neo-traditional design/land plan community designed by Peter Calthorpe at Calthorpe Associates, with the assistance of Mark Johnson at Civitas Denver. It is the only neo-traditional master-planned community in the northeast market of the Denver Metro Area. Painted Prairie is situated for easy commutes and access to Denver’s arts and cultural activities. Situated across the street from the Gaylord Rockies Convention Center and located halfway between Anschutz-Fitzsimmons and Denver International Airport, with easy access to the A-Line rail, E470, DIA, 56th Avenue, I-70, Downtown Denver, and I-225, the community is conveniently located from just about anywhere. ECI Site Construction, a specialist in designing outdoor spaces, recently installed this beautiful scenic bridge at the Arroyo, a key feature of an amazing new park being built at Painted Prairie. It offers views of the Arroyo and the play fields within the park, as well as stunning vistas from Longs Peak to Pikes Peak, including Mt. Evans and the Denver skyline. Sure to become a favorite gathering place in Painted Prairie, it is the ideal spot to celebrate a special birthday or to take wedding and graduation photos. Will you be the first to enjoy it?
