Getting Started

Homeowners and residents are added to our app system at the beginning of each month, so if you close on a new home in Painted Prairie on the 5th of the month, it won’t be until early the following month that you will have access to the app. Focus on getting settled in, meeting your neighbors, and then dive in to all of the resident information!

Between now and then, if you’d like to access information available to the general public, here’s how:

Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships – Breckenridge – January 23 – February 1, 2023

Building sandcastles is one thing, but carving a 20-ton block of snow with nothing but hand tools? We’ll leave that up to the talented artists from around the world that compete each year at the Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships. This free event is open to the public, and locals say the best time to go is at night when the sculptures are lit up with multiple lights to accentuate the fine lines and details that make these true works of art. It’s a great day trip, or overnighter if you want to explore the rest of Breckenridge a bit more. To plan your trip, visit the Go Breck website.

We hope this has inspired you to check out what Colorado winters have to offer. Your resolutions are waiting!

Built in Painted Prairie, the 2022 Inspiration House contributes $323,000 to Home Builders Foundation

DENVER, Colo. (Nov. 10, 2022) – Earlier this year, KB Home volunteered to be the partnering home builder for the 2022 Inspiration House. KB Home selected a new home build in Aurora’s Painted Prairie development and reached out to their trade partners to explain the purpose of the Inspiration House, which is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Home Builders Foundation(HBF).  The Developers of Painted Prairie immediately donated the full cost of the beautiful corner lot on which the home was built. Over the next few months, an additional 32 partners signed on to donate or discount the cost of labor and/or materials for the 2022 Inspiration House.  On October 19th, project participants came together for a recognition ceremony followed by a ribbon cutting at the new home and the formal check presentation. Thanks to the collaboration between KB Home and their trade partners, a check for $323,181 was presented to HBF.

Beth Forbes, Executive Director of HBF and Randy Carpenter, President of KB Home Colorado thank Cheryl Schuette of Painted Prairie for the development’s donation of land for the 2022 Inspiration House.

The Developers of Painted Prairie immediately donated the full cost of the beautiful corner lot on which the home was built. Over the next few months, an additional 32 partners signed on to donate or discount the cost of labor and/or materials for the 2022 Inspiration House.

This is the eighth Inspiration House to be completed since the program’s initiation in 2003. The program was put on hold during the housing recession and resurrected in 2019. The 2022 Inspiration House had the largest number of participating trades, the shortest build time and provided the largest check to HBF since the resurrection.

Randy Carpenter, President of KB Home’s Colorado division, attributes the success of this year’s Inspiration House to the company’s Built on Relationships philosophy and the generosity of the building industry. KB Home reached out to its trade partners to discuss various ways the companies could support Inspiration House. ā€œThe individuals within the Colorado homebuilding community are among the most generous people in the state. I am extremely proud of our team, the relationships we have built and everyone who played a role in this year’s Inspiration House,ā€ Carpenter said.

Beth Forbes, Executive Director, Home Builders Foundation and Randy Carpenter, President of KB Home’s Colorado Division, cut the ribbon on the 2022 Inspiration House.

Beth Forbes, HBF’s Executive Director, was awed by the tremendous check presented during the ceremony. Forbes shared, ā€œThe impact of these funds is huge. The demand for home modifications – which we provide to clients free of charge – continues to increase. And this very generous donation will allow us to complete even more projects to elevate lives.ā€ Carpenter added, ā€œThe work HBF does empowers those with unique situations. We hope our efforts improve the lives of their clients and enable them to remain in their home no matter the circumstances.ā€

Teresa N., an HBF client who has a brittle bone disorder and purchased her first home this year, attended the celebration. HBF modified the front and back decks at Teresa’s home and also widened doorways so that she is now able to utilize both her interior and exterior spaces. She expressed her appreciation to HBF and the crew who worked on the modifications, saying, ā€œIt means everything. It just brings me great joy.ā€

The 33 trade partners who joined KB Home and donated time and services to complete the 2022 Inspiration House include:

Pumpkins and hayrides and dancing, oh my!

Painted Prairie’s third annual Harvest Fest was one for the books, as we kicked off fall with a day full of fun!

We enjoyed a sprawling Artisan Market with some of our favorite vendors, including Fat Cat Ceramics, your newest obsession, crafting gorgeous hand-spun pottery, and Woven in Wild, funky handmade macrame, with a side of hippie glam jewelry, just to name a couple!

This year our Alice and Wonderland characters scattered throughout Periwinkle Park and along Orleans Street to test out our littlest Prairie guests’ trivia knowledge! Each character provided a punch to their punch cards, with a yummy candy prize at the end.

The Cheshire Cat tried to stump our guests with riddles all day, but our guests got the upper hand.

Denver’s hottest band, Funkiphino, entertained the crowd, ensuring our dancing feet didn’t stop all afternoon long! The sounds of this fan-favorite funk group boosted our energy and made for the perfect soundtrack for the day.

Funkiphino played to a great turnout at Periwinkle Park.

Giant games like Connect Four and Jenga provided some exciting competition, while those looking for something a little more mellow enjoyed frolicking in the pumpkin patch.

Those looking for a fresh and fun way to tour the neighborhood took part in an old-fashioned hayride, passing through all of Painted Prairie’s pocket parks and model homes.

Our guests worked up quite an appetite, enjoying all of the festivities! Luckily we had some of Denver’s most delicious food trucks in attendance! Guests enjoyed tasty eats from Walking Taco Company, Uncle Dave’s BBQ, and White Rabbit Coffee after enjoying some groovy tunes and perusing the artisan market.

White Rabbit Coffee Co. kept the crowd going with its delicious coffees.

Our newest home models from David Weekley and Parkwood Homes were the stars of the show, with potential new Painted Prairie residents filtering in and out throughout the day, discovering reasons why our community is such a coveted place to live.

David Weekley Homes opened its newest model, The Sloan, at 21005 E. 61st Drive, Aurora, CO. A gorgeous 2,300 square foot home featuring three to five bedrooms, two to three full baths, one-half bath, and a two-car garage.

Parkwood Homes, a brand new builder to the community, debuted its first model, The Chelsea, at 21275 East 61st Drive, Aurora, CO 80019. Boasting a rooftop deck, a carriage house perfect for a home office or guest hideaway, and many more traditionally modern finishes, this model is a gorgeous addition to the neighborhood.

Remington and Berkeley Homes’ brand new sales trailers were also open and sharing what’s to come in the Painted Prairie community from these incredible local builders. (Now open at 6286 E. 62nd Drive and 6286 Lisbon St. in Aurora, CO.)

High Point Academy dancers performed for the crowd.

Thank you to all who came out to celebrate our favorite event of the year, checked out our latest model homes and sales trailers, and joined us to ring in the new season! If you have photos from the event, please tag us at @paintedprairieco on Instagram and Facebook!
