Besides being previously named Community of the Year in North America and in the Denver Metro area, there are a few terrific reasons to begin your day on Saturday, August 19th at Aurora’s conveniently located Painted Prairie community.

Reason #1: Over 30 Open Houses and Models to Tour

Painted Prairie will have an impressive collection of over 30 open houses and models from nine world-class builders (with more on the way!) open for you to explore.

Whether you’re in search of modern designs, traditional aesthetics, or something in between, we have it all. Painted Prairie’s range of diverse architectural styles—from spacious family homes to cozy townhouses—caters to every lifestyle and need.

Tour starts at 10 a.m. and runs through 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 19th. Click here for an interactive map to plan your tour.

Reason #2: Food Truck Frenzy

You don’t want to miss Painted Prairie’s Food Truck Frenzy, featuring some of Denver and Aurora’s favorite mobile dining establishments.

Trucks will be dishing up deliciousness from approximately 11a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Reason #3: Local and Fresh Farmers Market with 24 vendors

Starting at 8:30AM in High Prairie Park (E 59th Pl and N Orleans St, Aurora), grab a coffee from White Rabbit Coffee before you browse a wide array of vendors with fresh produce, local delicacies, artisanal crafts, home goods, jewelry and more. With all passionate, local vendors featuring homemade and homegrown goods, you’ll be sure to discover unique products that showcase the best of the region.

Get directions to High Prairie Park. The market will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

It’s our last Farmers Market before our big fall fan favorite, Prairie Harvest Fest on October 7

As an added bonus, this is your last chance to test drive a Tesla at Painted Prairie. (Walk-up appointments are available).

With over 30 open houses and models to tour, an amazing Farmers Market, and our Food Truck Frenzy, Painted Prairie is the place to be on Saturday, August 19th.

Congratulations to Painted Prairie resident, LaVaughn Reed for her winning submission to name the coyote guardian of the Arroyo.

LaVaughn was recognized at the June 1st Thirsty Thursday event with a special certificate and appreciation from Painted Prairie and her fellow neighbors. Be sure to stop by and snag a pic with our canine friend and tag us on Instagram and Facebook!

It’s that time of year again – Painted Prairie’s Farmers Markets are back for another summer of local produce, artisans, and makers from around the community.

Our first Farmers Market of the season was held June 17 at High Prairie Park. With a great selection of vendors, coupled with free bike tuneups by Velofix and the Aurora Public Library Bookmobile – the market was a great way to kick off summer. Colorado is home to a thriving farmers’ market scene, and the Painted Prairie Farmers Market is no exception.

This is just the beginning of what promises to be one of the best neighborhood events in Colorado. Be sure to mark your calendars for July 15th and August 19th and join us for a fun-filled summer of fresh produce, local artisans, and community. Watch our Events page for details.Ā

It was a fun-filled day at the first Painted Prairie Easter Egg Hunt. Families from all over the community gathered in the park to search for colorful eggs filled with treats, and enjoyed plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. With special hunts for different ages, and a visit from the Easter Bunny and “Chick,” the Painted Prairie Easter Egg Hunt was an event to remember! Everyone had a blast searching for eggs, enjoying the games and activities, and making new friends.

There’s always something going on at Painted Prairie. We are ready to welcome all residents for some fun-loving, memory-making fun this year. From Thirsty Thursdays and Movies and Yoga in the Park, to an amazing Pancake Breakfast and the fourth-annual Prairie Harvest Fest, there’s something for everyone at Painted Prairie.

Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships – Breckenridge – January 23 – February 1, 2023

Building sandcastles is one thing, but carving a 20-ton block of snow with nothing but hand tools? We’ll leave that up to the talented artists from around the world that compete each year at the Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships. This free event is open to the public, and locals say the best time to go is at night when the sculptures are lit up with multiple lights to accentuate the fine lines and details that make these true works of art. It’s a great day trip, or overnighter if you want to explore the rest of Breckenridge a bit more. To plan your trip, visit the Go Breck website.

We hope this has inspired you to check out what Colorado winters have to offer. Your resolutions are waiting!
