At the young age of 10, Lindsey Granger dreamed of being the next Oprah Winfrey. Lofty goal? Maybe. But this determined future journalist from New York set her mind on being “intentionally unrealistic” as a strategy for achieving goals. Today she has two decades of journalism experience including covering the Royal Wedding (Kate Middleton and Prince William), guest-hosting on The View, and anchoring NewsNation. Articles for Bustle Magazine and Romper, a leading mom-focused publication, are among her published work. She also spent six years at MSNBC. Lindsey’s approach of seeking out and going for what one may consider “unrealistic” landed her more than just a few notable roles in her career.
Lindsey’s partner, Kolyn, is a visionary director and co-founder of this power-couple’s full-service production company, Gilded Focus, a one-stop shop for high-quality video storytelling. His work spans television, commercials, narrative films, documentaries, podcasts, news programming and branded content — all grounded in strong storytelling and strategic vision. He thrives on blending cinematic craft with real-world impact, always leading with originality, clarity and connection.
Lindsey’s love of travel (her mother worked for TWA), paired with Kolyn’s closet-historian nature, and his love of the ocean and the outdoors, created the perfect framework for one of their proudest professional achievements together—developing and hosting the global travel series World of Travel. The show explores the past, present and future of diverse cultures and communities around the world and airs on DIRECTV, Samsung TV Plus and Roku in the U.S, plus in 56 countries around the world.
Originally from Texas, Kolyn has a deep-rooted Lone Star spirit that he carries with him everywhere (including when it comes to BBQ). In fact, he never thought he’d leave his home state. When an unexpected job opportunity was presented to him, Kolyn found himself moving to Arizona. One night on a whim, he ventured out and met Lindsey in Scottsdale. The rest is history — it was love at first sight, and he found a life and a partner he didn’t even know he was searching for. This new chapter pushed him out of his comfort zone — he’s found himself more open, adventurous and never, ever bored!
Boredom is not in Lindsey’s vocabulary. In fact, she’s a bit of a daredevil by nature. She has skydived in Dubai and bungee jumped off the tallest tower in Las Vegas. But her most courageous feat was giving birth while juggling deadlines of her demanding television career! It taught her that even in the midst of chaos, we are capable of greatness.
The couple found home at Painted Prairie with their energetic toddler, who always keeps them on their toes, and their brilliant teen daughter, Makayla, who keeps them both cool and humble. Lindsey’s mantra “See it. Be it” came into play here. They envisioned a peaceful, diverse and growing community where they could raise their kids and build dreams. April Denmon of Denmon Realty suggested Painted Prairie. “It’s been the perfect place for us to grow both our family and our creative business,” said Lindsey. “Plus — our incredible neighbors —they’ve become great friends and have been there for us when we needed them.”
